Tom & Brendas 33 Ford 5 window coupe

Tom and Brenda purchased this 1933 Ford from rural Missouri in 1980 and approached RCR about building a hot rod after 40 years of sitting in their garage.  What a time capsule!  The coachwork was challenging, 80% of the metal was replaced.  RCR filled the top and made several pieces including the top insert,  firewall, and modifying roadster quarterpanels to fit the coupe.  Fortunately Jesse Coots from Old Soul Hot Rod shop in upstate NY supplied a new complete floor, while Steve Frisbie of Steve's auto restoration in Portland OR was able to supply lower door skins and the roadster quarterpanels.  After 350 hours of TIG welding & coachwork, RCR was able to place the body on the HotShoe Hot Rods chassis from Chad Morley in Missouri, added the Ididit column and those beautiful Classic Instruments 33 gauges from Michigan, Wheelsmith Steelies w/ adapters and 33 caps from California, Coker Tires from Chattanooga, and finally the 383 SBC from BluePrint engines in Nebraska that all worked together along with our award-winning refinish to compete at the Hot Rod of the Year competion at GoodGuys Nashville 2023.  The 33 ran 9.1  at 103 mph in the 1/8th mile which was 3rd fastest out of the 50+ cars entered in that contest.  It did well in the 100+ mile endurance and scored well overall.  One of our favorite builds for our favorite customers.
